Our first club comp since the pandemic and the first one at our new city centre dojo.

Over 150 judo students took part in our charity fundraising club competition – and every one of them did themselves and their parents proud.

Each competitor fought in a group of four and had at least 3 fights.

The under 8s all received their gold medals from club performance coach – Claire, following a super tournament where we saw the little ones take their first steps onto a competitive mat. They seemed to take things in their stride and there was certainly a lot of promising judo on display for proud parents.

After lunch – the over 8s competed for gold silver and bronze – but every single player was a big winner in our eyes.

Our Judo mums and dads were on top form – cheering the players and starting to learn a bit more about our wonderful sport.

Coaches and volunteers had a ball – and we were able to let some of our squad players and seniors experience what it’s like to referee or to keep scores.

It was lovely to see neighbours from local clubs come along and take part.

A great day all round. Some unforgettable judo memories, lots of smiles and some much-needed cash raised for Sporting Chances our parent charity. Thanks and well done to everyone who took part.
