Two of our minors gave outstanding performances in the Northern Ireland Open winning silver against tough odds.

Oscar Reid was fighting in the weight category above his normal – and battled through to the final.

Luke MCafferty meanwhile – had to re fight two of his contests due to being tied. He came through well winning quickly with ippon to take a well deserved second place.

The big guys fought on the day before with solid effort by Alice, Hattie and Cian. Eden managed to win his group to retain his Northern Ireland title for the third time.

This competition is a real favourite for the club. The organisation is great, the country is beautiful and the people extremely friendly. We are looking forward to taking a bigger team next year.
