Leo Gillon

Assistant Judo Coach

Leo started volunteering when he was 14 with his sister at the Scotstoun class and did so for a few years until he was old enough to do his Level 1 UKCC Coaching and since has been involved with assisting with classes and mini club competitions.

Leo has been doing judo since the age of four, he initially used to watch my sister at her classes before he was old enough to join in myself. He has partaken in competitions in the past with one of my most memorable ones being the Venray International, Holland in 2014.

Here is Leo’s favourite technique, Judo player and moment

  • Technique : Uchi Mata
  • Judo Player : Ilias Iliadis
  • Favourite Judo Moment : I have a lot of great memories from judo, but I would say at current the best moments of coaching judo for me is seeing other children get enjoyment out of the classes.
Biography:

I started Judo at the age of 4 at the Donald Dewar Centre with George Goode. I was very keen to start judo as I had previously been watching my sister for a while and I thought it looked like so much fun. Since joining ProJudo I have met many great friends and have traveled to various camps and competitions. Judo has taught me so much more than the sport it has taught me self-discipline, self-respect, and courtesy toward others.
