Pro:Judo in British Schools success

Pro Judo continued its successful season with a great performance at The National Individual Championships for Schools on Saturday 20 March in Sheffield.

 

The competition attracted 300 competitors from across Britain and the standard was very high.

 

Four Pro Judo club members travelled and returned with gold, twosilver and bronze medals.

 

Head Coach Brian Long praised local schools forsupporting their pupils’ entry to the event: “It means so much for the kids to have the backing of their schools. They were each representing their schools on the day and it really motivated them to do well. They can be very proud of their achievements.”

 

Results: National Individual Championships for Schools

  • Christine Milroy, age 13 from Bishopbriggs and representing Turnbull High School, won gold in the under 40kg category.
  • Kate Saunders, age 14 from Bearsden and representing Bearsden Academy, won silver in the over 78kg category.
  • Laura Hewitt, 11, from Crookston, Glasgow and representing Hillington Primary School, won silver in the under 32kg category.
  • Stephen Ross, 11, from Bishopbriggs and representing Woodhill Primary School, won bronze in the under 38kg category.
